Contact Northern Star Freight Solutions

Whether you have a shipment ready to move or a routing question you want answered before you commit, the fastest way to reach us is by phone or email. Our office is in Lochristi, close to the Antwerp-Bruges port complex and the Ghent road network.

Reach us the way that suits the shipment

Two direct lines into the office, and one written route for anything you would rather put in a message. If a deadline is running, pick up the phone; if you are still comparing options, email or the form both work.

Call during business hours, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. If you have a shipment with a deadline, calling is usually quicker than email, especially when you need a routing decision the same day. Have the goods description, weights and dimensions to hand so we can give you something concrete rather than a holding answer.

By email

Send the details

[email protected]

Include the origin, destination, goods, approximate weight and volume, and the date you need the cargo to move. Attach the commercial invoice or packing list if you have them. The more complete the first message, the more useful the first reply — we can come back with routing options instead of questions.

Enquiry form

Tell us what is moving and where it has to go

Use the form if you prefer writing to calling. Tell us what you are shipping and where it needs to go, and we will come back with routing options and a quote. If the shipment is complex, such as project cargo or out-of-gauge equipment, say so in the message so we can plan properly from the start.

Nothing is booked by sending this. It starts a conversation, and you decide what happens after you read the reply.

Written enquiries are answered within office hours

What to include

  • Goods description, plus weight and dimensions
  • Origin and destination, door to door or port to port
  • Required timing and any fixed collection or delivery window
  • Handling constraints, temperature, hazardous or fragile goods
  • Whether the cargo is non-EU or customs-sensitive

With those details we can advise on the mode, the gateway and the documentation before anything is booked.

We use these details to answer your enquiry about freight, customs or transport. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your message.

Before you write

Four things that turn an enquiry into a quote

The goods

What is moving, how heavy, how big, and whether it stacks, rolls or hangs. Pallets, crates and loose cargo all route differently.

The route

Where it starts, where it has to end, and whether you want it collected at the door or handed over at a terminal.

The timing

The date the cargo has to move, plus any fixed collection window at the shipper or delivery slot at the receiver.

The paperwork

Commercial invoice, packing list, and a note on whether the cargo is non-EU or customs-sensitive. Mention it in the first message.

If you do not have all four yet, send what you have. We would rather start the routing conversation early than wait for a perfect brief, and customs clearance questions are easier to answer before a booking than after one.

Questions we get before a first booking

Short answers to the things importers and exporters ask us most. If your question is not here, the phone is the quickest route to an answer.

How quickly will I hear back after sending an enquiry?

Written enquiries are handled during office hours, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. A complete message with the goods, route, timing and paperwork notes is faster to answer than a short one, because we can go straight to routing options instead of asking follow-up questions. If the shipment is urgent, call the office number rather than waiting on a reply.

Can I visit the Lochristi office without an appointment?

Get in touch first so we can make sure the right person is available. We are a working forwarding office rather than a walk-in counter, and the colleague who can answer a routing or customs question may be on a call or at a terminal. A short call or email ahead of your visit saves you a wasted trip.

Do you handle customs clearance as well as transport?

Yes. Customs clearance sits alongside the freight work, and it is often the part that decides the schedule on non-EU cargo. Tell us in the enquiry if the shipment is customs-sensitive, and read the Customs Clearance page for how the documentation side is handled before anything is booked.

Which gateways do you usually route Belgian cargo through?

The choice depends on the mode, the cargo and where it is going. Antwerp-Bruges, Brussels Airport and Liège each suit different traffic, and Lochristi itself is a road gateway into the Flemish corridor. The Belgian Gateways page explains which fits what. Mention your route and we will say which one we would use and why.

Can you quote a shipment that is not booked yet?

That is the normal case. Most enquiries arrive while options are still being compared, and a quote is a starting point rather than a commitment on either side. Send the route and the timing and we will come back with what is available; you decide whether to go ahead. See the Services page for the modes involved.
